Down Home Pro-Life: how a Southern girl joined the Midwest movement

Kathryn-PetersonKathryn is a student at the University of Alabama studying mechanical engineering and Spanish. A runner by trade, Kathryn knew she wanted to do something more with her gifts. “I am riding because the lives of my brothers and sisters are at stake,” she says in her B4B bio. Read on about how she found us, why she became involved, and which PRC she is supporting this year.

Two bikes and a crowd. My interest was piqued. This is how I learned about Biking for Babies, at the Fellowship of Catholic University Students’ SEEK conference this past January. I immediately found myself talking briefly with one of the team members, and entering my email to receive updates on their mission. Simply put, I was curious. Curious to see what redemptive suffering was all about. Curious to become more involved in my faith. Curious to use my athletic gifts for more than just myself. I’m still curious, and I’m looking forward to seeing how each mile will help to make a difference in the pro-life movement.

I get to represent Choices Pregnancy Clinic in Tuscaloosa, AL! Choices is run by Tuscaloosa Sav-A-Life Christian Ministry, and their purpose is to both support and educate women and their families in a pregnancy crisis. They offer parenting classes for expecting parents, and even help them to earn clothing and supplies for their children! Though it is located next to an abortion center, it amazing to see fellow college students and pro-life supporters standing outside with signs and praying to uplift the unborn. I am excited to help Choices give children their well-deserved pacifiers and parents the opportunity to foster life.
