We decided it would be great to group all of the route leaders’ bios into one place, so read on to learn who is leading
I have biked 7 years, equaling close to 7,000 miles ridden on behalf of Christ and pregnancy resource centers across the nation. But there is something you must know about me: I am not a cyclist.
At that point in time a girl from the group asked this question to her friends: How can we as Catholics preach a pro-life stance, but then we don’t actually do anything to facilitate these women to be pro-life? I asked God in my head, “You’re making this my job, aren’t you?” It was almost sarcastic. I then looked down at my phone… And I watched it die in my hand…
On July 15, 2017, around 100 people gathered deep in a park in St. Louis, surrounded by balloons, laughing children, and lots of trees. Some of them had ridden over 100 miles that day, some were just sweaty because it was warm outside. The 2017 Biking for Babies Celebration of Life had begun.
If you remember earlier this summer, we shared about a training ride some of our Northern missionaries put together in Wisconsin. Well, that was “so last year!” This year’s ride brought new pregnancy resource centers into play, invoked a few more weather patterns, and including a crew of six passionate missionaries for life. Read on about their experience…it’s a good one.
Dirk rode with the Eastern Team from Ohio to St. Louis, and as a first-year rider, he admits the journey wasn’t the easiest, but it
“Because within the incidents and outside of the incidents (including severe thunderstorms, broken bikes, and nonexistent roads), there was immeasurable beauty, joy, trust, hope, and radical love. The fact that we were able to feel the sun, to choose to overcome, to be joyful—those moments reminded us of the beauty of our life, and we were invited not to take them for granted.” Read Sarah’s reflection on this year’s Eastern Ride!
Biking for Babies is a month away from kicking off its 9th annual national ride as an organization. Trainer and rider Kevin is preparing for his 7th Biking for Babies ride and this time of year always has him asking an honest question: “am I ready?”
Year after year, Biking for Babies missionaries establish local rides to raise funds, raise awareness, and also to continue training in community. Jonathan shares about last year’s Wisconsin ride, ridden with “gusts of trial and the hills of torment,” and completely blessed with friendships, evangelization, and encouragement. And you can be involved with this year’s ride; it’s this weekend (June 3-4)!

With eyes now opened to the need and Christ-centered solutions of problems, these young adults are sent forth as “missionaries” into the rest of the formation program and into the rest of their lives, committing to live with the truth of the Gospel of life as the lens through which they see every relationship, every decision, and the world at large.

In this last period of formation, after the National Ride, missionaries
