The Need for Community

“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another” (Proverbs 27:17). My entire life, I have been around individuals that took this phrase to heart – mainly in the way of athletics. The reality was as an employee, coach, or player, you won or lost as a team and that was understood. I am thankful for the experiences I have had in athletics because each team I worked with focused on building a community which allowed every single coach and player to push each other in a respectful and honest environment.

Today, we all have an opportunity to give alms to the poor by supporting charities and non-profits financially, and I feel blessed to give that support to pregnancy resource centers. To “give back” to our faithful supporters, I’ve created a few digital pieces of art to encourage you on your pro-life walk, and to remind you that you are not alone in upholding the dignity and value of life.

Life Network of Southern Illinois is more than the trying effort of a single group of people. Life Network of Southern Illinois is more than the trying effort of a single group of people. It is a community effort coordinated and led by Debbie Geist and her hard-working teammates of paid staff and volunteers. The community and myself are proud to stand (and pedal!) behind them—churches and pastors of various denominations, the Catholic Diocese of Belleville, many proud residents of Waterloo and the nearby towns, and of course Biking for Babies.
