Rider, Chelsea Evett visits her Biking for Babies pregnancy resource center partner, Clarity Clinic
My visit to Clarity Clinic was amazing. This summer the Planned Parenthood in Dubuque shut down and the Clarity Clinic bought their building! They moved in there shortly after!! I asked if they had any girls that had come to the Clinic since they moved thinking it was PP and they said they definitely did right away. Some of the girls even decided to stay, and after seeing the ultrasound and talking with the staff they chose to keep their baby!
The new building is so much bigger than the one they were previously in. I was so impressed with how bright and welcoming it was. They have had a huge increase in the number of clients they have had this year. They are even starting to discuss the reality of having to increase their hours!
They offer an educational program for the parents that is also a benefits program. The moms (and dads) earn points when they attend a program and they can turn those points in to buy baby clothes, maternity clothes, formula, cribs, diapers etc. (see photo) they are always in need of more items to have available for the girls.
