Running in the rain!

Hello everyone!

Training has been going awesome. I’ve been doing a lot of running and probably will be mostly running till my parish 5k, Run for Bonifest, on Memorial Day Weekend and then I will hit the biking full throttle. I’ve been looking for some inspiration for my first post and this past Saturday I had my opportunity. I came home for Easter and a series of storms hit the area during the weekend. Saturday morning in Edwardsville wasn’t too bad, but it was still raining and I do not like running in the rain at all. I had an eight mile training run I planned to do and I knew that before I even hit the first mile I would be soaking wet. As I was complaining to my mom about how I did not want to go, I thought to myself, “Hey! Lets do this one for the babies.” So I went out the door and started my run through the subdivisions and bike trails by my house.

When I run by myself I think about a lot of different things, and this run I decided to devote the time towards thoughts and prayers for the gift of life. While I was praying for the unborn babies and those considering abortions, I realized I also need to pray for those who have had abortions and those who aid in performing abortions. Our bike ride is going towards showing how we care about the right for life and a small physical thing we can do with the gift of life. I hope that our daily prayers and actions will help others think more about the value of life at all stages because it is such a great gift of love from God.

Also my wonderful mother took this picture of me while I was finishing up my run. I hope you enjoy it!
