Returning to God: a missionary story

posted 10/5/2026

This story is a part of a series of missionary contributions where you’ll hear more about their “why” for defending and celebrating life with Biking for Babies.

Brice is a second-year missionary who has both ridden and served as support crew.

When Brice Conseibo left Burkina Faso to pursue his education in the United States, he never imagined that a bicycle ride would play a role in renewing his faith. Yet today, as a second-year Biking for Babies missionary, Brice sees God’s hand woven through every step of his journey.

After completing his undergraduate studies in Wisconsin and moving to Oregon for graduate school, Brice found himself navigating a new city, new responsibilities, and new challenges. Away from the support system that had helped anchor his faith, he admits that his relationship with God began to drift. Between academics, teaching responsibilities, and the demands of graduate school, prayer and faith life slowly took a back seat.

But God was not finished writing the story.

Encouraged by his parents, Brice joined his campus Newman Center, where he found community, spiritual support, and eventually attended the SEEK Conference for the first time. Through that experience, he began reconnecting with the Lord and rediscovering what it meant to place God at the center of his life. Looking back, Brice says that when he recognized that God was the only one who could truly help him, everything began to change.

That search for deeper faith led him to Biking for Babies.

What first caught his attention was the unique combination of things he already loved with things he was coming back to love: cycling, faith, and sharing the Gospel of life. But what he discovered was far greater than a bike ride. Through formation, community, and mission, Brice found the confidence to live his faith publicly and to share it with others. He describes Biking for Babies as helping him move from simply knowing about his faith to truly living it.

The impact extended beyond the National Ride itself. Inspired by what he was learning through Biking for Babies, Brice chose to focus his graduate thesis on respectful maternal care in West Africa. His research led to the creation of a practical guide intended to support maternal care workers in Burkina Faso, Senegal, and Ghana. What began as a missionary experience became an opportunity to serve women and families in his home region in a new way.

Perhaps the most powerful part of Brice’s testimony is its simplicity: God never gave up on him. Even in seasons of spiritual distance, uncertainty, and struggle, the Lord remained present. Today, Brice has committed himself to daily prayer, Scripture, and a life lived intentionally with God at the center. He’s involved in his parish, including serving with the Knights of Columbus.

As Brice puts it, Biking for Babies gave him the opportunity to live his faith as a young adult and be proud of it.
