Made Possible by Mothers … and You?

Mary and BikeEvery human alive on this Earth came about through a common means: a mother. Even Jesus himself was was born of a mother, Mary. Life for Jesus on Earth didn’t just happen automatically. Mary had to say, “Let it be done unto me.” And so every mother is posed with the same opportunity, an opportunity to say yes to new life. How fortunate are all of us to have been granted that yes, and more so, how grateful are we to our mothers.

All of this reveals something important about the role of mothers in our lives: they’re willing to make commitments. They’re making the commitment to carry their child to full term, until birth. They’re making the commitment to provide the child with a loving home, whether that is through adoption or through parenting. This commitment is what makes everything possible, and is what makes the role of the mother so important.

I consider this with the realization of how important my mother is to me. When I told her that I would be biking for babies, she decided she would support me, and in fact has been praying for the team ever since. Thus she has made my commitment to Biking for Babies her own, spreading the word to family and friends, and so she is helping us renew the culture of life.

Our mothers have made their commitment to us, we of Biking for Babies are making our commitment to new mothers, what are you making your commitment to? The mission of Biking for Babies depends upon your support and prayers. What role will you take to renew the culture of life?

I wish you peace!
