Faith Magazine: Raising Awareness by Biking for Babies

DOWD — The 2022 Biking for Babies multi-state ride is barely in the books, but organizers are already charting routes for next year’s campaign, which will cover thousands of miles across the country to help raise awareness and financial support for Pregnancy Resource Centers (PRCs).

And you can help.

“We’ve biked through the South since our second year and we want to keep it because these services are so vital,” said Nikki Biese, executive director of Biking for Babies. “We need more missionaries from Tennessee and Mississippi to join us be-cause we certainly don’t want to stop the work we’re doing there.”The work is ongoing, and the results have been nothing short of phenomenal. From humble beginnings in 2009 with two bikers from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill., who raised about $14,000 for an area PRC, today the movement counts five dozen riding missionaries spreading a message of love and support. To date, the organization has raised more than $1,250,000 for the cen-ters that offer counseling and hope to women facing difficult circumstances.
