Bike Ride Number 5!!!

IMG_0728Everyone,

I’m so happy that Jimmy and Mike are going to be on EWTN tonight and I wanted to share with you all how excited I am to be a part of biking for babies once again for the 5th year!

I became involved with biking for babies my sophmore year. I had a stress fracture in my femur but I was still welcomed to ride in the car with John Paul Dennins. I slept, filmed, prayed, cheered and chuckled as Jimmy and Mike biked their little hearts out and screamed at me “FOR THE BABIES”. Even though I was just in the car I wouldn’t have traded that spring break trip with anything. The next year I finally got to bike, as well as the year after that and the year after that. We went from biking all around Illinois to then two consecutive years of biking from New Orleans to Chicago. It has been awesome. We’ve gone from 2 charities to 8, raised over $90,000 and have been growing in our efforts to spread the pro-life message as we ride. We’ve gone from 2 riders, to 5, to 9, and this year we even have two more girls riding with us!! Honestly, having all guys on the team didn’t bother me much. The guys are always like brothers to me and it is encouraging to see so many young men that are passionate about the pro-life cause and willing to help women know the wonderful alternatives to abortion. But I am really excited that there are a couple more girls because this charity is very pro-women. It is very good and very necessary to have more women representatives for biking for babies and I’m so glad these awesome girls stepped up to participate in this somewhat physically challenging endeavor. But heck, isn’t it a known fact that women can take more pain than men? and that baby girls are twice as likely to survive than baby boys? WE FIGHT FOR LIFE!!! I’m semi teasing ;). It’s about time more girls joined, that’s all.

How could I not be excited about year number 5. I consider it a huge blessing to have been a part of this from the beginning and am eagerly waiting for what the future holds for the biking for babies pro-life project.

Peace,
Love,
and many prayers,

Stacy
