A Beautiful Life

Hello everyone! I hope wherever you are, the sun is shining like it has been recently here in Madison, Wisconsin! I’m getting excited for summer and I’m sure you are too!

As I think about Biking for Babies, I am overwhelmed by my excitement about finally being on the ride after being the prayer warrior from home for two years for my fiancé Kevin Biese. I have heard so much about this trip and I am now able to directly aid the mission to bring money to the mothers in need and awareness to people about the culture of life. It’s funny how this all got started. I met Jimmy Becker, one of the original riders, and found out about the bike trip. I knew that Kevin likes to bike, so I mentioned that to Jimmy, the two exchanged information, and our lives have changed so much. Before Biking for Babies, I never thought that I would be so involved in the mission to bring others to an awareness of the beauty that is life, but now it is part of my being.

I’ve been thinking about all the lives that I encounter on a daily basis- roommates, coworkers, friends, family, children, adults, acquaintances, and strangers. All of this life- it’s everywhere! I think how unaware most of us are of the people around us and how we walk (myself more than anyone I’m sure) quickly and with a mission to get somewhere and get something done. It is my hope that this post will remind you to stop and smell the roses, stop and say hi to a friend instead of rushing away, stop and thank the Good Lord for this life you have been given. We want to create a culture in which life is respected, but this can only begin when we have an awareness of life and the blessings it brings. Mother Teresa said it best when she said, “If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.

Love and peace,

Nikki
