Our Leadership – Fran Kolimago
Francis Kolimago is a seasoned financial services leader whose career spans more than three decades, marked by strategic evolution, global experience, and a steadfast commitment to client-focused excellence. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Finance from St. Joseph’s University and an MBA from Villanova University, Fran completed the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania.
He began his career in the corporate banking division of PNC Bank, where he spent over eight years before joining The Vanguard Group in 1996. Over the next 28 years, he held a variety of senior leadership roles, guiding teams and businesses both domestically and abroad. His assignments included co-launching a start-up venture in Tokyo, heading the Institutional retirement plan business in Scottsdale, leading Personal Advisor Services, and serving as head of the firm’s Australian operation. Throughout his tenure, he was inspired by Vanguard’s emphasis on serving clients with integrity and excellence, culminating in his retirement at the end of 2024.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Fran is deeply committed to faith, family, and community. He and his wife, Carol, are proud parents of five children—four sons and one daughter. Their family’s journey has taken them from college graduations in Pennsylvania and Ohio, and more recently to campus visits at the University of Notre Dame and the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where their middle son and youngest two currently study, respectively.
A lifelong distance runner, Fran enjoys putting in the miles alongside Carol, a fellow former collegiate athlete. Together, they support Catholic education and causes through charitable giving and embrace opportunities to travel—often to visit their children and cheer them on in their own life adventures.
As a member of the advisory board, Fran is excited to leverage his experience in support of the inspiring Biking for Babies mission.
