Thank you for your interest in becoming a 2023 Biking for Babies Missionary! Please note that completion of this form includes commitment to:

  • Participate in the entire National Ride Formation Program, which begins March 1 and ends September 30, 2023.
  • Participate in the 2023 National Ride, which is July 9-16. Riding days occur July 10-15 while July 9 and 16 are travel days.

Missionary Commitment

National Ride missionaries commit to:


Participate in the entire National Ride Formation Program, which begins March 1 and ends September 1, 2023.

Participate in the 2023 National Ride, which is July 9-16. Riding days occur July 10-15 while July 9 and 16 are travel days.

Actively pursue a missionary lifestyle, which includes the following qualities:

-Live by the Gospel of Life, which is the revelation of Jesus Christ that every human person has immeasurable value and dignity and is therefore worthy of reverence and love.

-Commitment to be an authentic disciple of Jesus Christ

-A personal prayer life

-Trustworthiness, accountability, and commitment to sharing Truth with Love

-Passion for changing the culture

-Willingness to grow in the above by communal and personal pursuits of Scripture study, prayer formation, pro-life education, and openness to the workings of the Holy Spirit.

-Cultivation of the following qualities: humble, loving, courageous, faithful, generous, joyful, disciplined

-Be guided by the Biking for Babies Core Values: evangelize joyfully, reverence for the dignity of the human person, unification with the Cross

Be an active member of the National Ride community by attending and engaging in all formation opportunities, including but not limited to:

-Formation: Missionary Formation video calls and breakout sessions

-Representation: Represent one pregnancy resource center, learning their needs and advocating for them

-Fundraising: Set a fundraising goal, then invite “mission partners” to financially support the mission, helping you reach your fundraising goal

Strive for excellence and fulfill responsibilities in all areas for the safety, health, and well-being of Biking for Babies and its members

-Regularly communicate with Route Leader (RL) via text, email, or RL’s preferred method of communication

-Use all provided resources often

-Commit to accomplishing any “homework” associated with formation

-Receive constructive feedback with willingness to make changes that promote personal and team growth

-Commit to general expectations for the National Ride

-Plan and pay your transportation costs to your starting location and from your ending location

-Write and send a thank you note for each donation made in your name

-Prepare diligently with provided safety resources for the health and well-being of the organization and its members

-Pay total “ride fee” to cover food and transportation costs on the National Ride

-Actively participate in the National Ride’s religious and non-religious activities

-Be an enthusiastic member of the team by accepting and sharing encouragement during the toughest parts of the National Ride and by actively engaging with community we meet along the way

Commit to role-specific expectations for the National Ride Program, including but not limited to:

For riders only:

-Acquire for use a road bicycle with clips,helmet, & cycling shorts

-Purchase a Biking for Babies cycling jersey

-Use Strava ( and provided digital training log to record activities and workouts for training specialist to review

-Complete at least one 100-mile training ride and accomplish all other training milestones as outlined in the Rider Checklist

For support crew only:

-Help to coordinate the routes’ evening stops (events and lodging)

-Participate in Support Crew Training which includes physical and spiritual activities in preparation for the National Ride

-Fulfill essential roles of service during the National Ride including:

-Laundry of teams’ clothes, packing and repacking van, filling and distributing water bottles, filming and taking pictures, communicating with day’s lodging, preparing lunch, navigation, contributing to a positive team morale, and covering the week with prayer

Statement of Acknowledgement

Accident Waiver and Release of Liability

I acknowledge that this athletic event is an extreme test of a person's physical and mental limits and carries with it the potential for death, serious injury and property loss. The risks include, but are not limited to, those caused by terrain, facilities, temperature, weather, condition of athletes, equipment, vehicular traffic, actions of other people including, but not limited to, participants, volunteers, spectators, coaches, event officials, and event monitors, and/or producers of the event, and lack of hydration. These risks are not only inherent to athletics but are also present for volunteers. I hereby assume all of the risks of participating &/or volunteering in this event. I certify that I am physically fit, have sufficiently trained for participation in the event and have not been advised otherwise by a qualified medical person. I acknowledge that this Accident Waiver and Release of Liability (AWRL) form will be used by the event holders, sponsors and organizers, in which I may participate and that it will govern my actions and responsibilities at said events. In consideration of my application and permitting me to participate in this event, I hereby take action for myself, my executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin, successors, and assigns as follows: (A) Waive, Release and Discharge from any and all liability for my death, disability, personal injury, property damage, property theft or actions of any kind which may hereafter accrue to me or my traveling to and from this event, THE FOLLOWING ENTITIES OR PERSONS: Biking for Babies their directors, officers, employees, volunteers, representatives, and agents, the event holders, event sponsors, event directors, event volunteers, and co-participants, except to the extent caused by the fault of such person which fault is covered by insurance; (B) Indemnify and Hold Harmless the entities or persons mentioned in this paragraph from any and all liabilities or claims made by other individuals or entitles as a result of any of my actions during this event. I hereby consent to receive medical treatment which may be deemed advisable in the event of injury, accident and or illness during this event. I understand that at this event or related activities, I may be photographed. I agree to allow my photo, video or film likeness to be used for any legitimate purpose by the event holders, producers, sponsors, organizers and or assigns. I hereby certify that I have read this document; and, I understand its content.

COVID-19 Liability Waiver

I understand the hazards of the novel coronavirus (“COVID-19”) and am familiar with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”) guidelines regarding COVID-19. I acknowledge and understand that the circumstances regarding COVID-19 are changing from day to day and that, accordingly, the CDC guidelines are regularly modified and updated and I accept full responsibility for familiarizing myself with the most recent updates. Notwithstanding the risks associated with COVID-19, which I readily acknowledge, I hereby willingly choose to participate in the National Ride. I acknowledge and fully assume the risk of illness or death related to COVID-19 arising from my being on the premises and participating in the National Ride and hereby RELEASE, WAIVE, DISCHARGE, AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE (on behalf of myself) Biking for Babies, their directors, officers, employees, volunteers, representatives, and agents, the event holders, event sponsors, event directors, event volunteers, and co-participants, except to the extent caused by the fault of such person which fault is covered by insurance and assigns (the “RELEASEES”) from any liability related to COVID-19 which might occur as a result my being on the premises and participating in the National Ride. I shall indemnify, defend and hold harmless the RELEASEES from and against any and all claims, demands, suits, judgments, losses or expenses of any nature whatsoever (including, without limitation, attorneys’ fees, costs and disbursements, whether of in-house or outside counsel and whether or not an action is brought, on appeal or otherwise), arising from or out of, or relating to, directly or indirectly, the infection of COVID-19 or any other illness or injury. It is my express intent that this Waiver and Hold Harmless Agreement shall bind any assigns and representatives, and shall be deemed as a RELEASE, WAIVER, DISCHARGE, AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE the above-named RELEASEES. This Agreement and the provisions contained herein shall be construed, interpreted, and controlled according to the laws of the State of Wisconsin. I HEREBY KNOWINGLY AND VOLUNTARILY WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL OF ANY DISPUTE ARISING IN CONNECTION WITH THIS AGREEMENT. I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS WAIVER WAS EXPRESSLY NEGOTIATED AND IS A MATERIAL INDUCEMENT THE PERMISSION GRANTED BY RELEASEES TO BE ON PREMISES AND PARTICIPATE IN THE NATIONAL RIDE.

$75 Application Fee

Upon acceptance, a $75 fee will be attributed towards missionary "ride fees," which help cover the cost of the National Ride program (fuel, housing, food, insurance, etc). Final cost of this amount is around $175 (TBD). If you are not accepted as a missionary, you will have the option to donate this fee to the organization or have it refunded to you.

Only first-year riding missionaries will receive a new jersey with their acceptance (fee to be included in National Ride fee). Returning missionaries or support crew can order a jersey for $77.
