Agape Pregnancy Center, Des Moines

The mission of Agape Pregnancy Center is to demonstrate the Truth and unconditional love of Jesus Christ to girls, women and their families experiencing unexpected pregnancy or the effects of sexual relationships, in a safe and confidential environment. We do this by offering free pregnancy tests, free STD tests, accurate information on all pregnancy options (including abortion procedures and risks, parenting and adoption) parenting classes, adoption referrals, and post abortion support. All services are free and confidential.

Donations will primarily support:
Increased outreach-we’d like to reach more girls who are either abortion-minded or uncertain of their choice regarding their pregnancy. Many girls that fall into that category are college-aged (between 18-24). Agape is situated close to many Des Moines Colleges (Drake, Grandview, Des Moines University, and Des Moines Area Community College). We’d like to do some additional advertising to make these students more aware of our services and hopefully to be their first choice in the event of an unexpected pregnancy.
Ultrasound machine, room and nurses training – Currently, Agape is not offering ultrasound services. It has been shown that if an abortion-minded client views an ultrasound, roughly 8 in 10 change their mind and decide to continue the pregnancy. Since we would like to increase our advertising to those at risk, we’d also like to be able to offer the ultrasound services as well to provide futher life-affirming information to them regarding their pregnancy.
